My name is Matt and my daughter’s name is Lacey, and this is the story of our journey into beginner astrophotography.
Neither of us had a background in astrophotography to begin with, but I have developed a growing fascination with the night sky and Lacey is already studying photography at school.
We are learning by starting with a mobile phone, keeping costs low, and practicing from a light-polluted back garden while exploring moon photography, nebula imaging, galaxy photography, and image processing techniques.
We also share weather forecasts, dark sky site suggestions, and hands-on learning as we improve our skills over time.
